Current Exhibits:

GATHERING SPACE GALLERY:  “A Semblance of Order” -  An exhibition of textile art, poetry and paintings by Joyce Suellentrop, Jeanine Hathaway, and Beth Golay; a collaborative group of artists who combine thoughts, images and poetry. They toss around ideas at monthly meetings before going their separate ways to create, following where the discussion (and wine) leads them.

  • Joyce Suellentrop, a retired history professor, is a textile artist. She often embellishes her pieces with acrylic and detailed embroidery.
  • Jeanine Hathaway is a poet whose publications include a novel, Motherhouse (NY:Hyperion,1992), and two collections of poetry, The Self as Constellation (TX: UNT Press, 2001) and The Ex-Nun Poems (KY: Finishing Line Press, 2012).  Her collaboration with Beth Golay and Joyce Suellentrop, Fabrication of A Li(f)e, was shown at Watermark Books, 2013.
  • Beth Golay is a textile artist with a penchant for words, acquired from spending years in both the book industry and public radio. In addition to her collaboration work with Jeanine and Joyce, she is a founding member of the Ginger Rabbits artist group.

HIGH WALL GALLERY:  The Derby Public Library is also pleased to feature an exhibit of photographs featuring activities and personnel at McConnell Air Force Base.  Derby resident and talented photographer Barney Tull created this stunning exhibit, which is located both in the entryways and in the Library's Business and Genealogy Center.

SPECIAL FEATURE FOR AIRPLANE EXHIBIT:  Unique audio of a refueling crew in action is available using your cell phone and a QR code, located on information sheets displayed near the photographs.

WE THANK ALL of these talented artistsfor sharing their art with our community.
