Derby Arts Council
The goal of the Derby Arts Council is to encourage, promote and foster appreciation, participation and support for the Visual Arts. The Derby Arts Council will showcase local Artists and provide an exhibition gallery for Derby and the surrounding area to enhance the cultural arts experience.

The Gathering Space Gallery is open during the regular library hours. If art is in the Community Room, it may not be available for viewing at all times.
Current Exhibit: “TRI,” featuring abstract art by Jose Alvarado, Bryan Reynolds and Jacob Seymore. This exhibit will run through July 31, 2014. The public is invited to meet the artists at an Opening Reception scheduled for Friday, June 6, from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.
The Derby Public Library is also pleased to feature an exhibition of paintings created by members of the Derby Senior Center. Their artwork is hanging in the "High Wall Gallery" located in the Library's Business Center. We thank these talented amateur artists for sharing their artwork with us. The currently featured artists are Elma Ash, Shirley Parkins, Ardene Swenson and Dorothy M. Voth.
- Early-August – Mid-October: Joyce Crowley; sculptured paintings
- Mid-October – Early January: Members of the Kansas Art Guild will display their paintings.
- Mid-January – Mid-March 2015: Faith Stepp; sculpted and painted foam panels.
- Mid-March – Early May, 2015: Derby Student Art
Receptions: The public is invited and encouraged to attend gallery receptions when scheduled. Receptions provide the public with an opportunity to meet the artist(s) and discuss their exhibit on a one-on-one basis.
