The Gathering Space Gallery is open during the regular library hours. If art is in the Community Room, it may not be available for viewing at all times.

Phil Emerson, local artist, is currently on display in the Gathering Space Gallery,
Derby Public Library. "Everyday

Abstractions,” is a collection of 29 large scale works on exhibit through October 13, 2015.

Phil is a mixed-media artist, working with substances ranging from house paint, to oils, acrylics, and water colors to create art on a frequently "found" object. Random pieces of cut lumber are the artist’s favorite find. Experimenting with textures and finding inspiration from music, Phil defines himself as a "lyrical abstractionist.”  While he states that he has been drawing since he could hold a crayon, he acknowledges that commissioned work has driven him to grow and evolve artistically. His inspiration for work, while found both in nature, and patterns and textures seen in old and new construction, are also hugely driven by music.  Phil says “I create from a place of color and sound."

Debbie Bradstreet, artist, is currently in exhibit at the Derby Public Library,
