The Gathering Space Gallery is open during the regular library hours. If art is in the Community Room, it may not be available for viewing at all times.
Current Exhibit: “Out of the Frame,” featuring bas-relief artwork by Joyce Crowley. Crowley developed this media in 1968 and her process allows light to be reflected to the surface of an acrylic painting. The pieces shown in the Gathering Space are large and range from wildlife to Native American. This exhibit will run through October 24, 2014. The public is invited to meet the artists at an Opening Reception scheduled for Thursday, August 21 from 6:30pm – 8:00pm.
The Derby Public Library is also pleased to feature an photography exhibition by Barney Tull. The photographs were taken on a recent trip to the Hawaiian Islands. His photography is hanging in the "High Wall Gallery" located in the Library's Business Center.
